Overview
Ahrefs built its reputation on its own web crawler, and the link index remains the reason most people pay for it. Keyword and rank tracking are strong too, but the tool is narrower than Semrush by design — it does SEO and stops. The interface is the least cluttered of the major platforms.

Anyone whose work is link-led — outreach, digital PR, or competitive link analysis — and agencies managing many verified domains.
Not for
Teams who need PPC and social data in the same subscription, or who want a usable free tier for unverified sites.
